Who We Are

Recovery for Life is a 501c3 organization that rescues and empowers individuals who struggle with addictions and compulsive behaviors. We believe that by providing a safe and sober atmosphere for people to discuss their struggles, teaching new coping techniques, and therapeutic counseling they will learn to solve issues and get better. We utilize brief, solution-focused faith-based principles, and the 12 steps. We incorporate a holistic approach to healing coupled with traditional techniques to achieve recovery.

We understand that addiction is a family disease. Whether it be an intervention or individual counseling, we strive to work with the entire family unit to develop tools and strategies that will promote positive reintegration for the individual in recovery back into the home and the community.

Recovery for Life was founded over 23 years ago to meet the needs of the Hampton Roads community to provide a holistic approach to recovery. Our team is comprised of professionals with 50+ years of combined experience in the addiction treatment field. We focus on seeing each individual and their needs in order to create treatment plans that foster recovery and turn their lost dreams into reality.

Over the years, our numerous community partnerships have produced results that are tangible, compelling, and life changing. In the last 23 years, this partnership represents

  • over 1,000 free peer support meetings (One per week for 23 years)
  • over 1,700 people in 90-day stay in our Recovery Residences (144 per year in 3 homes for the last 12 years)
